Live RPG Companion: Enhancing Your Gaming Experience

Threadfall x HPGameMasters = Perfection

At HPGameMasters, we manage a multitude of RPG tables — featuring both published modules and our own homebrew worlds. Until recently, the story of each game existed only in our handwritten notes, often reduced to dot points hastily jotted down during play. Unfortunately, this scribbled documentation sometimes overlooked crucial details that gave the characters' actions depth or captured that epic battle and decisive blow that changed the game's momentum.

All of this transformed when we introduced Threadfall, a live RPG companion, to our tables. With our GM recording the sessions, narrative replay becomes instantaneous, allowing us to relive our adventures without the burden of organizing a stack of notes.

Threadfall also generates character chronicles, crafting a custom Codex that includes every NPC, character, location, item, and deity, alongside lore elements and memorable quotes from both NPCs and players. The Atlas feature enables your GM to track and document the party's journey through the vast worlds you create together, while the Fates feature (available at higher tiers) offers some of the most efficient RPG table management we've experienced.

Additionally, you can create collector cards that showcase your player characters and highlight their most memorable moments from your sessions.

How It Works At The Table

Play.

Threadfall listens along in the browser while we run the game, whether in person or online. Players are asked to consent before recording starts — and no audio is ever stored: it's transcribed as we play and discarded. The written transcript, which serves as a useful tool for character chronicles, is what's kept for RPG table management.

Read.

The recap is ready before everyone's packed up: the night told as a chapter, with every NPC, place, item, and faction named and cross-linked into a growing codex. This process forms part of the character chronicles, and the best lines from the table are preserved as quote cards, enhancing our RPG table management with effective gaming tools.

Return.

Next session, it picks up where the story left off — chapter by chapter, one continuous chronicle of the whole campaign, showcasing the character chronicles and utilizing various gaming tools for effective RPG table management.

"I copied in notes from a three-year campaign and it sorted everything into quests. It knows which ones failed, knows the party's priorities. It's genius."
